This movie touched me so deeply. I realized just how much i've taken life for granted. You see i can relate to Aya in a sense because i have suffered all my life with Bi-Polar, Social Anxiety, and OCD mental diseases. And there have been many times i've felt like people are staring at me thinking the worst about my mental challenges. On top of all that i literally have no friends and live a pretty reclusive life because of it. However, i have turned my attention to my animals which love and accept me unconditionally no matter what. Which quite honestly scares the hell out of me as i get older since it's quite obvious nobody wants to die alone. But i do the best i can just as Aya did. Also i've always felt that people should be far more compassionate to these diseases whether they be physical or mental. Bottom line folks please reach out and help someone even if they don't want it. Deep down inside we ARE very appreciative.

Watching this drama was a roller coaster ride for me. I smiled. I cried. I was excited then I got disappointed. The feelings I got when I watched this drama were surreal. Through out the series, I tried my best to hold back my tears until this very last episode. When Aya's Mother read the letter written by Aya for her siblings, it just pierced my heart. I started to bawl. I didnt even try to hold back. Couldnt be asked. I am glad I watched this drama after reading some good reviews. But definitely not gonna watch second time. It was too much to take. "1 Liter of Tears" is an understatement. I cried 8th Ocean in my room.... Thanks for subbing this. Much appreciated. PS: I am glad Aya had such supporting family members.

The movie is good but the book is much much better. Just by reading Aya's diary and looking at her photos, I was able to tell how much effort she mustered to live on till the very end. The main actress in this movie wasn't able to fully portrait what the real Aya had been through. Also, the movie should have been longer and more focused on Aya's rehabilitation efforts, and all the romance with Asou is unnecessary and probably unrealistic.

Of course, the actress wasn't able to completely portray what Aya went through. No matter how good you are at acting you can't actually know the pain the other person is going through until and unless you are in their shoes. And how do you know the romance is not real?Don't be presumptuous.

I understand that acting is not real, so the actress can't fully portray what I person in real life goes through. Yet still, I expect the acting to be better. Sorry for my wording in the previous post, but I just find the acting not good enough. Somehow when I look at the main character, I don't see a suffering yet strong-willed girl. I see a cheerful, talented and pretty girl who is just unfortunate. About the romance, I was frustrated to see they focused too much on it, and opted out the scenes where they should have shown Aya's rehabilitation efforts and struggles with the illness. I didn't assume it was unreal, that's why I said it was "probably" unrealistic. How many boys of Asou's age would be thoughtful and deeply in love with someone enough to the point that they can get over their girlfriend's condition? I would say very rare.

Amazing drama. After watching this drama, I feel like everything happens for a reason. I pray that Aya finds happiness in the afterlife and is now smiling like she always did in her pictures. Live on, forever.

Watched this at 12 midnight and I have to muffle my weeping to not wake my parents. Best drama ever. This is my first-ever Japanese drama that I watched throughout. Live on, Aya-chan.

The real life story is even more tragic than this. There was no Asou for the real Aya. She was alone. But she still never gave up.
